The Farnham & District Museum Society Journal is more than just a publication; it is a vital record of the area's history and a testament to the enthusiasm and dedication of its contributors.
Since 1965…
The Farnham & District Museum Society Journal has been published every quarter since December 1965, making it the longest-running local history journal in Surrey. Packed with insights to truly bring our local history to life, this publication is provided to all society members and contributors. It’s always well-received and fosters a strong community of history enthusiasts in and around Farnham.
History and Archaeology
The journal features articles on various periods and topics, including archaeology, local history, natural history and history of art. Articles tend to relate to the area of the old Farnham Hundred, which consisted of the town and outlying villages. This includes Badshot Lea, Bourne, Churt, Elstead, Frensham, Hale, Tongham, Rowledge and Wrecclesham. We also publish articles on the periphery of that boundary; usually the Hampshire villages within the triangle of Crondall, Neatham (Roman Neatham) and Frith End.
