The Town of Farnham in four volumes are all written by Pat Heather and reflect the town’s historic administration divisions and the area around it. Each volume is a stand-alone history of that part of Farnham’s town and the surrounding areas. The volumes are arranged according to the towns historic administration areas: The Borough and Castle Street; East Street; West Street; and Church Lanes, Downing Street and the town south of the River Wey.
The books describe the development of each plot in the historic town and their residents. The books are based on primary sources such as the Bishop of Winchester’s Pipe Rolls, parish records, censuses, property deeds and local wills, newspaper reports and personal recollections.
Each book has more than 200 pages and are illustrated with many maps and plans drawn by the author, and includes many black and white photographs.
