Spring 2026 Talk Programme Announced – Farnham & District Museum Society
The Farnham & District Museum Society is delighted to announce its Spring 2026 programme of engaging local history talks. From Jon Hawkins’s photographic look at the UK’s natural world (23 January) to Dr Roy Waight on Frensham Hill before the Heights (20 February), Dr Alan Wright on Gypsies in Victorian and Edwardian Surrey (20 March), and Janet Pennington on an archaeological childhood in Sussex (17 April), the season ranges from wildlife and photography to estate history, social change and family archaeology—bringing fresh perspectives with strong local links.
Each talk takes place in the Garden Gallery, tucked away in the Museum of Farnham’s walled garden – an intimate and welcoming space that reflects the Society’s commitment to making history accessible, sociable and rooted in place. Talks begin at 2.30pm on Fridays, typically running for an hour, and are followed by light refreshments and friendly discussion.
Whether you’re a long-time local or a newcomer to Farnham, our autumn programme offers a chance to deepen your knowledge of the area’s rich cultural heritage, meet others with similar interests, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon in a beautiful setting.
