Autumn 2018

21st & 24th September:     What’s In A Name ? The histories and meanings of our local names.  

19th & 22nd October:         The Town around the Longbridge; from its medieval origins.  

23rd & 26th November:      From Slaving to Saving: Understanding the impulse to create new parishes by studying the history of the Parish of Rowledge.  

 

 

Spring 2019

 

22nd & 25th February         Farnham Park & Hale;       The effects from the creation of the Park and the development       around it.  

22nd & 25th March              Exploring Our Industrial Heritage:      The story of the Basingstoke Canal.  

26th & 29th April                  Curator’s Choice:      A selection from the Museum’s Collection.  

17th & 20th May                   Tongham:  Its Long History.  

14th & 17th June                  Victorian Farnham.

 

Our Local History Seminars are held between 2 pm. and 4 pm. in the Garden Gallery at the Museum of Farnham, the Seminar on the Friday being repeated on the Monday. 

 

Tea or coffee is provided during an interval, giving an opportunity for discussion and perusal of documents. 

 

Please contact Pat Heather to book your place.  Cost: £5 per Seminar, or reduced price for all 8 Seminars: £24 ( members ), or £30 ( non-members ).
