Abstract for
“Father Robo’s Farnham”
Father Etienne Robo visited England in 1903
as a young man and stayed for the rest of
his long life, becoming Farnham’s Catholic
Parish priest for 38 years.
To Catholics he will be remembered for building
St Joan’s catholic church on the south side
of Farnham. To any interested in the
town’s history he is known as the author
of the scholarly work Medieval Farnham.
Among other biographical items the author
reveals an entertaining correspondence between
Fr Robo and George Bernard Shaw.
The book of 68 pages is provided with 33
illustrations, some of them in colour.
