Autumn 2026 Talk Programme Announced – Farnham & District Museum Society

The Farnham & District Museum Society is delighted to announce its Autumn 2026 programme of engaging and thought-provoking local history talks.

This year’s line-up once again brings together a fascinating range of topics that connect Farnham to wider national and international histories. From the transformative — and sometimes disruptive — impact of the Victorian railway on local life, to a return journey across the D-Day beaches, the rich military heritage of Surrey, and the intriguing customs of Tudor gift-giving, the programme offers something to captivate every interest.

Each talk takes place in the Garden Gallery, tucked away in the Museum of Farnham’s walled garden — a welcoming space that reflects the Society’s commitment to making history accessible, sociable, and rooted in place. Talks begin at 2.30 pm on Fridays, typically running for an hour, and are followed by light refreshments and friendly socialising.

Whether you’re a long-time local or a newcomer to Farnham, our autumn programme offers a chance to deepen your knowledge of the area’s rich cultural heritage, meet others with similar interests, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon in a beautiful setting.
